Wedding Celebration at the Fort Garry Hotel
Yasmin and Shahzad came to their reception ready to celebrate. The ceremony had already happened, and by the time we started the day together, the energy was relaxed and warm, the kind that comes from a couple who had already said what they needed to say and were ready to enjoy the rest of it.
We started with details, florals from Floral Fixx, décor by CT Rentals and Ornare, the dress from Chantel's Bridal, and a cake from La Grotta. Everything had been put together carefully and it showed.
Their first look happened outside at the Upper Fort Garry gate, which is one of my favourite spots near the hotel. From there we made our way to Saint Boniface Cathedral for portraits, then over to the parkade for something a little different before heading back to the Fort Garry for the reception.
The entrance was traditional Syrian style, and the energy in the room shifted immediately when they walked in. There's something about that kind of entrance that's hard to describe, it's not just two people walking into a party, it's a whole room coming alive at once. The first dance followed, and then the reception opened up into a full celebration. The dancing that followed was exactly what the Fort Garry's Crystal Ballroom is built for.
Yasmin and Shahzad were surrounded by people who genuinely wanted to be there, and it came through in every part of the evening.
