Mini Sessions

Can I be honest for a second? A couple years ago, when I first starting hearing about mini sessions, I can’t say I was fully convinced on the idea, to be blunt, I didn’t like them at all… For me, a short session, at a location that I didn’t connect with, didn’t really hold a lot of value for me. Then a couple years ago, we completely forgot to book family photos, and on a last minute cancelation (and whim) we booked our own mini session, and I realized at the end of the day, that stuff didn’t matter.

When I experienced what it felt like to be on the other side of the camera, it was the perfect amount of time for our young kids and their short attention span. It was wayyy easier to keep them engaged for 15 minutes than for a full hour (the same might go for your partner too)! But more than that, what mattered was the moments and photographs captured with those closest to me.

In my opinion, most families can get what they need out of a shorter session. And while a longer personalized session will always have it’s place in my work, we can cover a lot of what’s really important in 15 minutes.

  *I ask for full payment upfront because of how my booking software works, only $75 is considered non-refundable retainer to hold the booking. After you’ve booked your date, you’ll receive a contract to sign.
